I just put up a new copy of the HOWTO-HOWTO that Mark submitted
this afternoon and it now contains screenshots that are jpeg
images. For example, see:

It compiles into it's various forms just fine, but the
PDF is produced using htmldoc, not the jadetex route.
Yes, the graphics do show up in the PDF file.
I'm not sure this helps you however. Anyway, the source
can be found in the LDP CVS tree, or :
